Elgate D. Hitch FORT WORTH - Elgate Daniel Hitch, 86, a former field operation supervisor with General Dynamics and most recently a Realtor with Wm. Rigg Co., died Sunday at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will be at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Shawn Flynn of Fort Worth. Memorials: The Organ Fund at Genesis United Methodist Church, 7635 S. Hulen, Fort Worth. Mr. Hitch was a member of Genesis United Methodist Church, Cooke-Peavy No. 1162 A.F. & A.M., Knights Templar, O.E.S. Chapter 681, and was a retired member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers No. 776. He had been a Fort Worth resident since 1935. Mr. Hitch was especially proud of his years of service as a young man in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was preceded in death by his wife, Danella Ross Hitch. Survivors: Son, Dan Reese Hitch and his wife, Rosannne, and their children, David and Christopher; daughter, Merlynn Barnard and her husband, Gene, and their children, Stehlin, Shawn, Shari, Shareese, Melody and William Jr.; sister, Mable Stevens; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
