bullet  Notes:

*UNCERTAIN that Thomas Mitchell here is son of Thomas of Thomas (who died 1743). However, it is very high likelihood that he comes from this line as it is the only Mitchell line in Worcester Co. at the time. But does this Thomas connect to Thomas of Thomas or his brother John of Thomas? John of Thomas died in early 1769 and mentioned no direct descendants in his will (his brother Thomas witnessed it and he left his estate to his sister's families) so the probability that this Thomas Mitchell is s/o Thomas of Thomas is very high.

*Uncertain but high likelihood that Thomas Mitchell is father of Henrietta Mitchell who married Henry Watts in 1809 but it is likely. Henry Watts administers Thomas Mitchell's estate in 1814 (he had died intestate) and Henry owns a slave, daughter of slave Beck whom Thomas Mitchell owns and sells in 1814. Plus, their lands are very close together, all this evidence points to a high probability that Thomas is father of Henrietta (Mitchell) Watts.

In 1790, Thomas Mitchell is listed in a household in Worcester Co., MD as 229-09. In 1800, Thomas Mitchell is head of household in Worcester Co., MD with 21010-10201, suggesting he is age 26-45. In 1810, it is 11110-11110. In 1810, his household was 01110-00010. These combined suggest a birth year in the range 1765-1774. He married the widow of Zadock Wright, Mary, in 1789/90 so we place his birth year towards the earlier end of that range.

"Mitchells Conclusion" was surveyed for Thomas Mitchell on Mar 1 1803 for 280a in Worcester Co., MD. It was a resurvey of portions of tracts "New Fairfield", "Chance", "Number Two" and "Fraternity." It's first bounder is a "marked post standing by a Bridge at or near a small Creek it being one of the Bounders set up by the Commissioners between Betty Wright and John Wright in Dividing the Real Estate of Zadok Wright, deceased" (WoCert:0900 unpatented)

On Jan 7 1814, Thomas Mitchell sells negro man slave Beck (as Bek), for $1, to Esther Spence, free negro woman, in Worcester Co. (WoLR-AD:528)

On Nov 25 1814, Henry Watts was named and bonded as administrator of the personal estate of Thomas Mitchell who died intestate in Worcester Co., Jacob Teague and Thomas Franklin provided security. (WoBonds-1814/91:11). He filed an inventory of that estate on Dec 13 1815 in Worcester Co. (WoInv-1814/16:74)
