William Chance wrote his will on Sep 10 1804: I give to my wife Kesiah Chance the whole of my estate and at her decease the whole of my estate to be equally divided among all my children. Signed with his mark, William Chance. Witnesses: Thomas Bell and Michael Dowty. The will was proven Sep 9 1805 at Northampton Co., VA. Administrator Matthew H. Dunton. Appraisers: William Dunton, Nathaniel Nottingham, Hancock Dunton and John H. Harmanson. Inventory and Appraisement taken on May 23 1805.Audit and Settlement. Matthew H. Dunton administrator. Posthumously, William Chance is mentioned on Sep 27 1831 at Accomack Co., VA. It was on this date that Elijah Chance and William Chance were named as the dec'd brothers of Jacob Chance dec'd, a soldier in the Rev. War. William Chance left children not known to the deponent.
