 On Aug 28 1811, Thomas Freeny, attorney in fact for Elijah Gordy, sold 332.75a of land to George Parker for $998.25. The land was part of five tracts devised to Elijah Gordy by his father John Gordy in his will: "Hog Yard", "Gordys Safety", "Wisdom", "Halls Addition" and "Brandy Ridge". The land is described as bordering the MD/DE line, the lands of John Hall, and the tract "Sassafras". (SxLR-AF29:415) |
