George Pollitt had surveyed and patented several tracts of land including "Choice" for 42a on Nov 15 1754 (So Cert:BC 3/282;BC 9/24), "Pollitts Discovery" for 190a on Dec 31 1762 (Wo Cert:BC20/426;BC21/682), "Pollitts Addition" for 45a on Nov 16 1769 (Wo Cert:BC37/381;BC39/118) and "Tamroon's Ridge Addition" for 217a on Oct 10 1774 (So Cert: BC49/68;BC50/111)
*Compiler's Note: "Pollitts Discovery" is the tract that this compiler grew up on! It is located in modern Wicomico County, MD about 2 miles SE of Fruitland on St. Lukes Road in the SW quadrant of the intersection with Milton Mill Road (2017).

George Pollitt wrote his will Jun 22 1782 and it was probated in Somerset Co. on Aug 5 1783: -To son George Pollitt, all of the land he nows lives on to a fence with a parallel line across -To son James, all the remainder of the land I now live on -To son Nehemiah, land "Pollitts Discovery" and "Pollitts Addition" -To son Samuel, land "Bacon Neck" in Worcester Co. -To daughters Prissy and Nicey, a negro woman Moll, negro girl Nan, negro boy Simon, negro girl Lette -To daughters Sally and Milly, two negroes one called Violet and one called Lewis -To my 4 sons, the remainder of my negroes after my wife's thirds are taken out -Remainder equally among my 8 children Witnesses: James Roach, Anna Roach (SoW-EB1:182) His account admin was conducted Aug 17 1784 and distribution was made to his widow (unnamed), daughters Sally and Milly Pollitt; four sons George, Nehemiah, Jimmy and Sammy Pollitt; two other daughters mentioned are Prissy and Eunice.
