John Kibble

From the old Somerset Liber IKL: "John Kibble and Abigail Horsey were marryed the seaven and twentieth day of ffebruary by Mr. Robert Maddox Anno Dominy one thousand six hundred seaventy & two."

On Aug 12 1672 Alexander Murray, planter of Pungoteague, Virginia, et ux. Sarah Murray sold land in the tract "Newtown" to John Kibble, carpenter (SoLR-SC:298). This tract is across and on the Pocomoke River from the modern city of Pocomoke, slightly to its west.

John married Abigail Horsey, daughter of Stephen Horsey and Sarah Clarkson, on 27 Feb 1673 in Somerset Co., MD. (Abigail Horsey was born about 1656 in Northampton Co., VA and died before 27 May 1727 in Somerset Co., MD.)
