On Oct 30 1738, Moses Driskell, saddler, et ux. Catherine Driskell, sold to John Ruark, planter, the 50a tract COW HARBOUR that Driskell had surveyed for him in 1722. (SoLR-MF:003)

John Ruark (as Ruke) wrote his will on Jan 20 1769 and it was proven on Oct 29 1773 in Worcester Co., MD with the following provisions:
- To beloved wife Mary Ruark all my estate, lands for her widowhood, then to son Ezekiel Ruark can have the dwelling house and part of the plantation
- To son James Ruark, the rest of my lands and Ezekiel's portion at his death - if he dies without issue to Ezekiel and if he dies without issue to Levin Ruark
- To son Ezekiel, one shilling
- To son John, one shilling
- To daughter Sarah Owins one shilling
- To my six youngest children the remainder of my estate after my widow's death or marriage and Ezekiel may have a third of the apples in the young orchard
