Died at the residence of H.J. Starr, near Carey, on Thursday, June 1st, 1876. Eliza Brown, widow of the late Judge Brown, in her 73rd year of age. Mrs. B. settled on the farm where she died in 1824. She was therefore among the very first settlers of this county, She was the mother of fifteen children, eight of whom are still living. She had a large circle of acquaintances and her death is deplored by all who knew her.
Eliza married William Brown, son of Edward Brown and Elizabeth (Betsy) Hitch. (William Brown was born on 12 Sep 1796 in Somerset Co., MD, died on 26 Jun 1866 in Wyandot Co., OH and was buried about 29 Jun 1866 in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Vanlue, Wyandot Co., OH.)
