In the March court 1733/4, we find: "Ordered that Robert Hardy be overseer of the road from Stepney Church up wickacomoco River to the great road that Leads from Thomas Humphrys's to the uper ferry over Wickacomoco River and from the upper side of Bartletts Plantation to the afd ferry &a" (SoJ-1733/35:139)
Robert Hardy last appears in the Somerset Tax Lists in 1749 and his account of his estate is settled in 1751.

If he d. without heirs, then to son James Hardy. One shilling sterling of personal estate. Inferred as also 166.67 ac of ORPHANS LOT To wife Sarah Hardy: mare Spring. Remainder of moveable estate for her life or widowhood. To daughter Isabel Hardy: livestock; bed and furniture. To daughter Sarah Hardy: livestock; bed and furniture. To share all personal estate with Isabel after widow's decease To son George Hardy: silver dram cup. To daughter Elizabeth Hardy: one shilling sterling. Executrix: wife Sarah Hardy. Witnesses: Day Scott, Thomas Windey, Thomas Jones, Christopher Piper. Note: See MD Wills 19:046 (proved 1726) of James Hardy, Sr., bequeathing the 500 ac ORPHANS LOT to his sons Joseph, John and Benjamin. The bequests in the present will appear to be the partitions of Joseph and Benjamin, but the rights of Robert Hardy to those components is not explained. Joseph seems by Nanticoke tax lists to have d. ca 1735, age about 20. (SoW-EB9:280).
