In the March court 1733/4, we find: "Ordered that Robert Hardy be overseer of the road from Stepney Church up wickacomoco River to the great road that Leads from Thomas Humphrys's to the uper ferry over Wickacomoco River and from the upper side of Bartletts Plantation to the afd ferry &a" (SoJ-1733/35:139)
Robert Hardy last appears in the Somerset Tax Lists in 1749 and his account of his estate is settled in 1751. He wrote his will on Dec 21 1744 and it was proven on Mar 13 1749 (NS). Among other things, he left his land ("Orphan's Lot") to son James (that that had been his brother Joseph's) and son Robert Hardy. (SoW-EB9:280).
Robert married Sarah (?) about 1714 in Somerset Co., MD. (Sarah (?) was born about 1698 in Somerset Co., MD and died after 1751 in Somerset Co., MD.)
