Lokey was spelled Leckie, Leckey early.
On 16 May 1689 John Huett patented the tract South Wales for 200 acres. The rent rolls, 1666-1723, show it disclaimed by heirs apparent and Capt. Nicholas Evans who married Huett's widow. On 31 May 1731 Alexander Leckie and wife Ann and Joseph Johnson and wife Susannah sold 200 acres to Huett Nutter.
Alexander Leckie wrote his will Aug 30 1740 and it was proven in Somerset Co, Maryland on May 11 1743 where Thomas Jones and Susanna Jones tract Daniel's Adventure. To wife's daughter Jean Evans. Mentions Mrs. Mary Benson and Thomas Benson. To son-in-law Nicholas Evans tract Lifford. Mentions Daniel Cawdry and Anne Evans. To wife Ann Extr. Witt: John Evans Jr., James Dashiell, Nicholas Evans Collier and Joseph Dashiell.
In Aug 1746, for the tract Contention, Stepney Parish, Somerset Co, Maryland. It was on this date that commission and affidavits in relation to boundaries of "Rice Land" were recorded. Deposition of Thos. Dashiell, November Court 1746 and deposition of John Evans Sr. regarding a survey of tract called "Contention" for Alex. Lecky and Ann his wife, referring to a deed (1699) of Rachael Huett to daughter Ann Huett, for land said Rachel lived on, and a deed (1731) Johnson and wife to Nutter conveying land ". . . at or near the plantation . . . wherein one the Rev'd John Huett dec'd lived . . ."
Alexander married Ann Huett, daughter of Rev. John Huett and Rachel Battian. (Ann Huett was born about 1686 in Somerset Co., MD and died before 25 May 1734 in Somerset Co., MD.)
