From "A Hitch Orchard," Daisy Hitch Davies, 1931: "He (Harrison Clement Hitch) is short, stocky, winning smile. To know him is to like him. Most of Harrison's early life had to with the Army and war. He had not finished grade school when the trouble along the Mexican Border required the attention of our troops and Harrison was among the first to enlist for the service. He was in the Army from this time until long after World War I. He serve with the A.E.F. in France with Co. C 324 Field Signal Battalion.

After the war, he settled in Wisconsin and worked with his brother ALLEN in the service of the Standard Oil Co. until January 1926. He then moved around quite a bit working in Indiana and Kentucky in the meat business. In January 1930 he moved, with his new wife, (his third) to Michigan where he is now (1931) a buyer and manager of several fruit and meat markets.

Harrison has always been interested in athletics and during the war was a champion wrestler and a football player. After the war he promoted many boxing and wrestling matches and at the present time is an official boxing referee of Michigan. When Harrison returned from the war, he announced that he was going to get married. Upon inquiry as to the name of his intended wife, he said, he hadn't picked her yet but was going to start asking the various girls he met until he found one that would take him up. He did before long. His present wife is his third. They have a child, Harrison has always been crazy about children. He is a Republican. (This record was given by his sister, Viola.)"
