JOSEPH WHITE, an old and respected citizen died on Thursday night of dropsy. He was for a long time Sexton of the Methodist Church and at the time of his death was janitor of the public schools. The funeral took place on Saturday and was conducted by Masonic fraternity, the deceased being an honored and useful member of that order. Lawrenceburg Register, September 4, 1884, Thursday.

The old school bell is ringing regularly again and the bright faced happy children hurry to answer the call; but a new hand is at the rope. Mr.White the faithful, long -tried, patient janitor is not there. Neither is he at the M.E. church where, for so many years, his familiar face seemed a part of the Sabbath services, Joseph White is dead. For some months he has had disease of the heart, and Friday morning the end came. He was a good man and will be greatly missed. His funeral was conducted by the Masonic Order, of which he was a member, Friday afternoon. Peace to his ashes. Only one son survives, David Edward White
