Levin Thomas Bennett

Eden-Levin Thomas Bennett 84 of Eden, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake.

Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late, Lee and Hazel Hitch Bennett. Mr. Bennett served in the United States Marine Corp. He worked for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company for 18 years and Atlantic Richfield Company. He later owned and operated S & L Trucking Co, retiring in 2005. He was a member of Masons Centennial Lodge #221. Mr. Bennett enjoyed farming part-time, planting corn, soybeans and watermelons. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, R. Marie Griffin Bennett; 3 children and their spouses: L. Bruce & Debbie Williams Bennett of Eden, Faye Bennett & George Dryden, Jr. of Newark, MD and Ray & Sheryl Quillen Bennett of Eden; 5 grandchildren and their spouses: Kristin Bennett, Olivia Dryden & Clifton Butler, Elizabeth Dryden & Shawn Davis, Melissa Bennett & Rudy Webster and Jason Bennett and fiancé Natalie Costello; 8 great-grandchildren: Caleb and Gabriel Butler, Nasir, Nylah and Christian Davis and Lucas, Caroline and Amelia Webster; 2 siblings, Pauline Serman and Johnnie Bennett; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Horseman. A funeral service will be held Friday, November 13, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home. Friends may call from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The Rev. Larry Reed will officiate. Entombment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park.
