In the 1790 Census, James Tingle is listed in Worcester Co., MD with household 214-04. In the 1820 Census he is listed in Dagsboro Hundred, Suusex Co., DE with household 011401-00110. In the 1830 Census, he is listed as James Tinkle in Preble Co., OH with a household as 1000200010000-10000001000000 suggesting he is age 60-70 at the time. In 1840, he is still in Preble County (Twin Township) as 0010000001000-00100000010000 suggesting an age of 70-80.
James married Leah Lockwood, daughter of Samuel Lockwood and Zipporah (?), on 07 Dec 1791 in Sussex Co., DE. (Leah Lockwood was born on 28 Dec 1768 in Worcester Co., MD, died on 12 Jan 1850 in Eaton, Preble Co., OH and was buried about 15 Jan 1850 in Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, Preble Co., OH.)
