Funeral service fro William C. Carey, 71, a retired carpenter, will be held this afternoon at 2 in the Hill Funeral Home. Mr. Carey, who lived at 236 Florida Ave., died Friday in Peninsula General Hospital after a long illness. The Rev. J. Melvin Kay, pastor of the Allen Methodist Charge, will officiate. Interment will be in the Shad Point Cemetery. Mr. Carey was born in Sussex County. He was a son of the late Wilmer W. and Mary Hobbs Carey. His family had lived in Fruitland for a number of years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Daisey White Carey; a son, W. Newton Carey, Salisbury; a daughter, Mrs. T. E. Dose, Dallas, Tex; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Williams, Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon from 1 to 2.
William married Daisy White, daughter of Thomas Henry White and Mary L. Harris. (Daisy White was born on 08 Jan 1895 in Wicomico Co., MD, died on 23 Mar 1970 in Wicomico Co., MD and was buried about 26 Mar 1970 in Shad Point Church Cemetery, Wicomico Co., MD.)
