John INGERSOLL

On Jul 30 1788, the witnesses of the will of Samuel Ingersoll were examined; Peggy Smith, Susannah Smith, Ebenezer Hazey, John Leatherbury, Mary Abbott and Betty Rencher. Richard Ingersoll, administrator, requested the will to be proven but the Justices ruled that it had been cancelled by the deceased.
On Jun 8 1790, John Ingersoll of Samuel was listed as age 14+ and chose William James as his guardian. [NOTE: this puts his birth year at 1770-1776]
On Aug 9 1791, Richard was told to pay the estate of John Ingersoll to William James (John's guardian). (SoOCP-1777/92:089, 095, 101)
On Aug 21 1793, William James presented John Ingersoll with 87.16.2, his share of his father's estate. Peter White and Richard Ingersoll, testators. This means he likely turned age 21 near that time. (SoAA-EB16:637)
