LEVEN VAUGHAN 03/28/1799 08/17/1804 "being in health and perfect mind and memory . . ." Bequeaths to:
1. William Vaughan --grandson (son of Joseph Vaughan, deceased); to have 100 acres of land whereon the testator now lives conveyed to the testator by Joseph Collins it being part of a tract of land called "Cox's Performance" and also to have 150 acres of land conveyed to the testator by John Windsor, deceased it being part of the aforesaid tract of land.
2. William Vaughan -son; to have 140 acres of land whereon William now lives called "Lookout", named executor of the will and instructed to sell a tract of land called "Vaughan's Venture" cont. 114 acres and he to pay or cause to be paid the sum of 40 pounds to testator's daughter Mary and 40 pounds to daughter Nancy and should the land sell for more than 80 pounds then the surplus for his use
3. Charles Vaughan -son; to have 202 2 acres of land conveyed to the testator by John Collins, deceased being part of 3 tracts of land called "Cypress Swamp Addition" and to have during his natural life and then to his son Levin Vaughan
4. Mary Cathel -daughter; to have Negro girl "Sarah", to have 1 cow and calf, 1 bed and furn.
5. Nancy Derickson Vaughan -daughter; to have Negro girl "Gin", to have 1 cow and calf and 1 bed and furn
6. Betty Vaughan -wife; to have all the testator's moveable estate during her natural life or widowhood and should she remarry, then the estate to be divided among the testator's children
Witnesses: John Polk, John Huffington, Jr., Benjamin Fooks
Codicil to the will:
1. Besey Vaughan -granddaughter, William Vaughan --grandson; should they die without heirs, then the above land willed to him are to be divided among the testator's 4 children
2. Mary Cathell -daughter, Nancy Derickson Vaughan -daughter; all the lands devised to testator's son William being 114 acres of land called "Vaughan's Venture" to be divided between them.
Witnesses: James Wroughton (mark), Bart Hollaran, Covington M. Elensworth
Then came: the three above named subscribers to the will
