Henry Cannon had the tract CANNONS THICKET surveyed for him (Dorchester survey) on Oct 12 1731 for 50a "on W side of a path that leads from Cannon's to Thomas Cannon's." He received a patent for it on Nov 7 1737. In the modern day, this tract is due north of Seaford, on its outskirts, in Sussex Co., DE.

HENRY CANNON 07/01/1782 08/06/1782 "being sick and weak in Body . . ." Bequeaths to:
1. Charles Cannon -son; to have one fourth part of all the testator's lands
2. Newton Cannon -son; to have one fourth part of the testator's lands and the 2 of the testator's lands left to Charles and Newton to be laid off by Daniel Polk, Esq. in the following manner: beginning at a cedar post standing close by Capt. Clement Baily's fence and thence . . .across the land and the portion left to them to lie to the south west side of the division line
3. Willis Cannon -son; to have the remaining 2 of the testator's land and to have that part of the lands lying to the north east side of the above division line and to have no part of the personal estate
4. Frances Cannon -wife to have her widow's dower out of the personal estate
5. Wateman Cannon -son, Clement Cannon -son, Eleanor Adams -daughter, Nancy Flowers -daughter, Frances Coulbourn -daughter, Euphamey Charles -daughter; remainder of the personal estate to be divided among them
6. Edward Adams --son-in-law; named executor of the will
