Purnell Outten bought land in 1768 at tract A71, Onancock, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Littleton Townsend sold part of this tract to Elias White and Purnell Outten. He sold land in 1771 at tract A71, Onancock, Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Elias White and Purnell Outten sold part of this tract to William Townsend.

Purnell made a will on 28 September 1795 at Somerset Co, MD. He died before 8 December 1795 at Somerest Co, MD. It was on this date that his will was proved.

Purnell married Mary Houston. (Mary Houston was born about 1724 in Somerset Co., MD.)
