Jonathan was named in his father's will on 10 November 1721 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as a son Jonathan Savage in the will of Thomas Savage Sr., wife Bridget.

Jonathan witnessed a will on 15 December 1729 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that Luke Johnson, John Smith, Jonathan 'J' Savage & Thomas 'I' Savage witnessed the will of Nathaniel Savage, wife Sarah, daughter Ansley.

He made a will on 20 August 1770 at Northampton Co, VA. To my dau. Sarah Savage n. boy Titus, n. girl Tinnis, loom and all the gears, 12 pewter plates, and dove tail chest. To my son Jonathan n. wench Dennis, her child James, 12 pewter plates, all my shop tools, and spice mortor and pastel. To my dau Elicia White n. girl Jinnie, oval table, and small desk upstairs. To my son William n. woman Annes, and 6 pewter plates. Resid. legatees my dau. Sarah Savage, Jonathan Savage and Elicia Savage. Son Jonathan extr. Witt: William Christian, Solomon Bunting, John Ross. Jonathan died before 12 May 1772 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. The executor's name is given as Jonathan Savage, Jr.
