Ann was named in her grandmother's will on 15 May 1683 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a granddaughter Ann Shepheard in the will of Dorothy Jordan of Ockahanock. She was given 450 acres where I now live.
Ann received land as a gift in 1696 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that John Shepherd executed formal deeds to his daughters, to confirm their respective rights, conveying to his eldest daughter Ann, now the widow of Peter Watson, the 550 acres patented by William Jordan, and to his daughter Elizabeth Andrews (husband Robert) the 250 acres in N'hamp, tract N117. He made no mention of the 450 acres which had belonged to Mrs. Dorothy Jordan, but apparently Ann retained it under the will of her grandmother, so she now owned the entire 1,000 acres which comprised tract A2. Ann deeded land as a gift in 1702 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Ann Watson made a deed of gift to her son Peter Watson of 225 acres, being half of the 450-acres part of tract A2.
Ann was named as administrator of an estate on 3 October 1704 at Accomack Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of William Simkins was granted to his widow Ann Simkins. Francis Wainhouse & Thomas Hall security. It was on this same date that administration on the estate of Peter Watson was granted to his widow Ann Simkins, relict of William Simkins. Francis Wainhouse & Thomas Hall securities.
Ann was named in her father's will on 10 February 1708 at Accomack Co, VA. She was shown as a daughter Ann Simkins in the will of John Shephard, no wife.
Ann deeded land as a gift in 1709 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Ann Simkin, once more a widow, gave to her son William Simkin 150 acres out of the 550-acre part. Ann then married James Hilton. Ann deeded land as a gift in 1728 at Accomack Co, VA. It was in this year that Ann Hilton, a widow for the 3rd time, made 2 deeds of gift. The first conveyed to her son Benjamin Watson the 400-acre balance of the plantation where she then lived, thus completing disposition of the 550-acre part; and the second conveyed to her son William Simkins 225 acres, which formed the rest of the 450-acre part.
Ann married Peter Watson, son of Robert Watson Sr. and Susanna (?), about 1690 in VA. (Peter Watson was born about 1660 in Northampton Co., VA and died before 1696 in Accomack Co., VA.)
