Charles was named as administrator of an estate on 10 October 1786 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Stephen Kellam was granted to Charles Kellam, the will appointed Extr. The will, which was not found, was proved by oath of George Pitts.
He married Sally Howell 11 Apr 1796 (bond) at Northampton Co, VA. Wm. Howell was the security on the M.L.B. of Charle Kellum and Sally Howell.
Charles made a will on 29 March 1816 at Northampton Co, VA. I lend my wife my plantation until my son Stephen Kellum arrives to age of twenty one to bring my children upon. I then give my land to my son Stephen. I also leave my daughters a home with my son after he arrives at age of twenty one. I leave four acres of land to be sold bounded by the main road on one side Teackle White on the other side. Further I leave my loving wife executrix. Signed with his mark, Charles Kellum. Witnesses: John Turner, Teagle White, Thomas (his mark) Clark and John Pitts.
Charles died before 11 November 1816 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. According to White law, Charles, died in 1816 (wife Sally) and left to his son Stephen, although previously he made a few small acreage sales. In 1865 Stephn Kellam left everything to a daughter Margaret Elizabeth.
His estate was settled after 11 November 1816 at Northampton Co, VA. Administrator Sally Kellam. Bond $1000. Appraisers: John Turner, William James, Hezekiah Pitts and Thomas Ames. No administration records.
