Robert Corbin
(Abt 1690-1743/1743) |
Robert Corbin 1
In 1741 Robert Corbin bought the eastern 125 acres of Whitelaw A152 (between Sanford and Messongo Creek) from George and Catherine Philbee. In 1743 Robert Corbin (wife Ann) left this to his son David Corbin, who two years later left it to his brother Ralph. In 1800 Ralph (wife Rachel) left it to his sons George and Coventon Corbin (Whitelaw, p. 1275). Also in 1743 Robert Corbin (wife Ann) left his home plantation, part of A157 (between Sanford and the Pocomoke River) to his son Ralph, who also became a doctor. Although Coventon was the heir-at-law of Ralph, in some way the property became owned by Coventon's brother George, who in his will of 1771 (wife Mary) made no mention of the land, which went to his son Ralph. Ralph and Rachel Corbin sold 20 acres of marsh to Jonathan Mears, who in 1778 with his wife Joyce resold to John Silverthorne. Robert married Anne Scarborough? about 1715 in Accomack Co., VA. (Anne Scarborough? was born about 1695 in Accomack Co., VA and died before 1766 in Accomack Co., VA.) |
