From the "Miles Files" at the Eastern Shore Public Library: He made a will on Sep 5 1604 at North Walsham, Co Norfolk, England. I, Henry Skarburghe, the elder of North Walsham, County Norfolk, of good and perfecr remembrance &c. My soul to God my Creator, assuring myself of forgiveness of sinners to be buried in the parish Church of North Walsham.
- To the Vicar there 6s. 8d.
- To every of the children of Henry Skarburghe, my son, viz: Henry, Samuel, John and Mary 5d. at 21 years of age. The children of my daughter Mary, now wife of Theophilus Harvye viz: To John and Mary Gurny 5d. each at 21 years of age.
- To the children of my daughter Elizabeth Harvy viz: to Henry, Susan and Elizabeth Mayetson, each 5£ when 21 years of age.
- To the children of my daughter Susan Pycroft, viz: Elizabeth and Thomas Pycroft 5d. each at 21 years of age.
- To Mary Skarburghe, daughter of my son, William Skarburghe 10£ at 21 years of age. To my daughter Susan Pycroft, £10 at Christide two years next after my decease.
- To my son, William £20 - £10 within half a year and £10 a year after my decease.
- To my daughter Anne, £10 to be paid within 10 months of her marriage.
- My son Edmund to be maintained and kept ( ) of the Inns of Court till he hath taken the degree of a Barester.
- To Elizabeth, my wife £10 a year for her life and to have a convenient dwelling upon or near part of the ground where my dwelling is, during her life and half a hundred of wood and summering and wintering of a cowe, so long as she and my son John shall not live together in one house.
- To my son John, copyholds in North Walsham, with yards, gardens and &c. and other late decaped buildings there and also to him all household goods and chattels to pay my debts and legacies, and I appoint him sole Executor.
