FRUITLAND \emdash Dorothy Lee Guy Hamilton, 82, of Fruitland died Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. "Dot" was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Craddockville to the late Selby Claude Guy Sr. and Elizabeth Drummond Guy. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fruitland where she, along with her husband, John, had been instrumental in maintaining the church's food closet. Dot and John and been recipients of the Jefferson Award. She had been a volunteer with the Maryland Food Bank and the Holly Center.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, John E. Hamilton; two daughters, Billye Hudson and her husband, Wayne, and Donna Croswell and her husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Christy and David Manning and their children, DJ and Kiera, David and Donella Hudson, Bridget and Shane McDade and their children, Rebecca, Travis and Zachary, Erica and Kevin Wolff and their children, Liam and Hayden, Billy and Erika Croswell and their children, Jeremy, Paige, Kyleigh, Katelyne and Meghan, Michael Dunn and Kimberly Parkinson and her husband, DJ, and their soon-to-be-born son, Eric David; many special nieces and nephews; and many other special family members and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marsha Dunn, two sisters and two brothers. The most important thing in her life was family, and she will be greatly missed by them all.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Holloway Funeral Home. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday. The Revs. Dow Wood and Michael Hamilton will officiate. Interment will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery Eastern Shore near Hurlock. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home PA at 501 Snow Hill Road in Salisbury. Published in The Daily Times on July 26, 2011
