Roger Phillips & Dorothy Clarke were marryed by Mr. Robert Maddox ocober ye two & twentieth Anoq Dominy one thousand six hundred seaventy & two

Roger Phillips wrote his will on Oct 14 1698 and codicil Dec 31 1699 and it was not proven in Somerset County records with the following provisions:
-To beloved wife Dorothy, the best feather bed and furniture and my saddle horse called Brandy
-To son Richard, one white horse called Pilot with a saddled, bridle, sword and pistols and a gun called my gun. Also the plantation on which I now live containing bout 100a
-To son Sichard and my youngest daughter Sarah Phillips, all hat tract adjoining the plantation I purchased from Symon Perkins and 25c of marsh equally divided, if Sarah dies without lawful heirs, Richard to get her portion
-To eldest son Thomas and daughter Dorothy Phillips, land tract on ridge called Tamaroons Ridge known by the name "Oxbury" equally divided
-To daughter Pheby Phillips, land called "Smithfield" on south side of Tamaroons Ridge
-To son Thomas, one two year old heifer and the increase
-To daughter Elizabeth Crouch, one cow and my grandchild Elizabeth Crouch Jr. one cow/calf
-Wife and son Richard to be executors
-Negro woman to be purchased for my wife out of my estate and her first child to daughter Pheby Phillips, the next child to Dorothy. After wife's decease, negro woman to go to ichard and Sarah
-if any more neroes are pruchased, they to go to my three daughters Pheby, Dorothy and Sarah Phillips after the decease of my wife and when they get to age 17
-son Richard to live with his mother on my plantation till he gets to age 21 except if he marries or his mother marries
-Thomas Horseman and William Kibble to be affadavits to my executors

-ldest daughter, Elizabeth Phillips, alias Crouch, land called "Hap Hazard" containing 125a
