Rebekah* Simpson?

*Much confusion has arisen over the years regarding Cornelius Wiltbank's wife. Almost all old genealogies claim she was Rebecca J. Armstrong. However, that wedding did not occur till Dec 5 1853 so, he was evidently married to another wife coincidentally named Rebecca as well, adding to the confusion. This compiler has speculated that maybe her name was Rebecca Simpson as they name a son David Simpson Wiltbank with perhaps her father being a David Simpson? Very speculative but this compiler is certain that Rebecca Armstrong was not the mother of any of the Wiltbank children.

Rebekah* married Cornelius Wiltbank, son of Samuel Wiltbank and Augusta Ann Heavelo, about 1804 in New Castle Co., DE. (Cornelius Wiltbank was born on 26 Mar 1784 in Sussex Co., DE ¹ and died 1854-14 Nov 1857 in New Castle Co., DE.)
