In a file of Veterans Administration Pension Payment Cards (Index) 1907-1933 at the National Archives, it states that Elizabeth Hitch was an Army widow of Octavius G. Hitch and that she died on March 6, 1916. Octavius G. Hitch was indicated as a Quartermaster Sergeant in Company A, 5th Ohio Cavalry. (Cert. No. 772760) Elizabeth married Octavius Grafton Hitch, son of William Hitch and Nancy (Nacky) Molden, on 26 Dec 1863.1 2 (Octavius Grafton Hitch was born on 29 Nov 1833 in Clermont Co., OH,1 6 7 8 9 died on 03 Feb 1914 in KS 1 5 and was buried about 06 Feb 1914 in Girard Cemetery, Crawford Co., KS.) |
