John Hudson
This John Hudson no doubt comes for the Henry Hudson line in Bogerternorton Hundred, Somerset-then-Worcester Co., MD. Henry (wife Ellis) left legacies to 11 children in 1720 as follows: David, Henry, Robert, Dennis, John, William, Major, Rhoda, Christian, Elizabeth (married Brittingham) and Mary (married Bishop). In the 1723 Tax List for the hundred, we find widow Ellis in household with William, and separate households for John Sr., John Jr., and Robert and Dennis. We lose Ellis in 1725, William in 1726. By 1729, only Dennis and Margaret are left by 1729 (Margaret presumably the widow of John Sr.). In 1735 there is only Dennis and a Major Hudson in the hundred. Major is probably not a son of Dennis as Dennis does not mention him in his will of 1760 but, may be a son of John Sr. or perhaps Major of Henry. John married Kezzier Powell on 17 Jan 1804 in Worcester Co., MD. (Kezzier Powell was born in 1785 in Worcester Co., MD and died before 1820 in Worcester Co., MD.) |
