Excerpt of letter written by Maj. E.T. Hitch, dated February 6, 1931, Washington, D.C. to Daisy Hitch Davies, compiler of "A Hitch Orchard".
"The Hitch family as represented by my grandfather" (referring to Thomas Hitch) "in Clermont Co. (Ohio) were considered as people of high standing and worth. Grandfather was at one time a member of the state legislature. His beautiful 300 acre farm on the east side of the Little Miami was the 'Prize' farm of the county for years."
