Henry Toadvine Jr. ¹

After Henry Toadvine died in 1782, we find his orphaned children being accounted for in Orphan's Court and their ages. From the Apr Court of 1783, three of them+, James (age 4), Isaac (age 4) and Nancy (age 7) were assigned to Mary Toadvine, (their mother) as guardian. On the same day, Mary Toadvine, Thomas Fooks and Levi Outten gave bond to pay Outten, Henry and John Toadvine £22.1.4 due to them from their father Henry's estate. (WoOCP-JW19-62-70) On Friday, Jun 16 1786, Outten Toadvine of Henry, over age 14, chose William Toadvine as guardian with Stephen oadvine and Levi Outten providing sureties. (Ibid:268)

Henry Toadvine worte his will Jan 29 1782 and it was probated in Worcester Co. Feb 19 1782:
-To wife Mary Toadvine - 50 ac of TOADVINES GOOD LUCK being part of tract hereafter willed to my son Henry
-To son William Toadvine - TOADVINES GOOD LUCK lying on Lokey Branch containing 100 ac
-To son Henry - that part of TOADVINES GOOD LUCK after wife's widowhood. Also the 3 ac adjoining my mill
-To son John Toadvine - the field containing 8 ac and Negro called Jak
-To son Purnel Toadvine - my saw mill and STRIFE containing 4 ac and bought from Jesse Fooks and of out the LONG ACRE and also the land bought from Jonathan Riggin
-To son Isaac - 60 pounds in gold or silver at age twenty
-To son Outten Toadvine - the field by tract SAVANNAH containing 80 ac
-To sons Outten and John - remainder of lands
-To daughter Nancy Toadvine - Negro girl Jane
-To son James Toadvine - Negro boy George and 25 pounds

Henry married Molly Outten. (Molly Outten was born about 1740 in Somerset Co., MD.)
