Elizabeth Howard Hitch
From "A Hitch Orchard", Daisy Hitch Davies, 1931: It is to Elizabeth Howard Hitch Thomas that the compiler is indebted for much of the family history in Fairhaven and New Bedford, MA. Although 84 years of age, she was very bright and a fine letter writer. She cared for her mother for twelve years until her mother until her mother left them. She married the only son of a Unitarian clergyman in New Bedford. Her husband served 3 years in the Civil War. Was a captain. Read page 37. I visited her at the Home in Fall River in 1930 and found her a very keen and alert elderly woman. She is on Mayflower stock on both sides of her family. Elizabeth married William Channing Thomas on 03 Jan 1866.1 (William Channing Thomas died before 1900.) |
