Michael Hayman* Dykes
(1785/1790-1831/1839) |
Michael Hayman* Dykes
*Not certain of connection to Michael Dykes as father of Mollie Dykes who married Thomas Driskell but it is a very good probability which this compiler rates at 90%+. He is the closest Dykes household in proximity to the Hitches, Driskells, Denstons, Haymans and other families that intermingled in marriage and in the correct locale. Plus Michael Dykes, in 1830, has many male and female children in his household of all the correct ages, including such for Mollie Dykes. Michael Dykes married twice - once in 1810 (Nancy Denston) and again in 1820 (Susanna Hayman) and so built a large family around two wives over those years of the Federal Period. His first wife Nancy died sometime in the 1811-1820 timeframe and he himself died sometime in the 1830s. There is little doubt that Michael was son of Daniel Dykes who lived next to each other in 1810. Michael married Nancy Denston, daughter of Levin Denston and Sarah?? (?), on 09 Oct 1810 in Worcester Co., MD.1 (Nancy Denston was born in 1785-1794 in MD and died in 1817-1819 in Worcester Co., MD.) Michael next married Susanna Hayman on 09 Aug 1820 in Worcester Co., MD.1 (Susanna Hayman was born about 1799 in Worcester Co., MD and died after 1840 in Worcester Co., MD.) |
