William Dykes
William Dykes had the 100a tract called "Williams Choice" surveyed for him on Jul 11 1762 in Worcester Co. and received a patent that same day. This tract is in modern day Wicomico Co., MD just border the Wicomico/Worcester boundary to its north and about a mile east of Snow Hill Road. He had the tract resurveyed in the same name to add 369a for a total of 469a on Oct 28 1773 - he received patent for it on Jan 1 1776. On the land in 1773 was described as an old indifferent frame house 20x15, 70 apple trees and 400 fence rails. William married Naomi Noble, daughter of James Noble Sr. and Mary (?), before 1776 in Worcester Co., MD. (Naomi Noble was born about 1735 and died about 1790 in Worcester Co., MD.) William next married Sarah Truitt? before 1794. |
