Samuel Dryden purchased 75a of land in "Marys Industry" from Mary Wells, widow of John Wells, on Aug 16 1793 (WoLR-P:80). On Oct 29 1793, he bought 99a from Zadock Ennis and 18a more on Jun 7 1802 from the same man. The land was part of "Industry" patented by Ennis for 627 1/2a in 1796 (WoLR-T:22, V:190). On Oct 7 1824, Samuel Dryden patents "Drydens Chance" for 25a which he sold to his son, Benjamin Dryden, on Jan 23 1833 (WoLR-AY:508).
Samuel Dryden's will was written on Oct 10 1838 and probated in Worcester Co., MD on Jan 21 1840 with the following provisions: - To son John, part of "Industry" - To son Benjamin, his part of "Marys Industry" - To daughters Elizabeth, Mary and Sarah, his personal estate. (WoW-LPS1:167)
