Quinten Loyd Dixon 1
Quinten Loyd Dixon, 90, passed way September 7th at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village. He was born on October 7, 1919 in Emhouse to Claude and Arvilla Dixon. Quinten was a World War II veteran and achieved the Silver Star, 2 Bronze Stars and other foreign campaign metals. He was honorably discharged on November 8, 1945. He was a finish carpenter and cabinet maker until he retired. He married Juanita Bates Dixon in 1952 and they shared over 50 years of marriage. They lived in Houston till 1980 when they retired and moved back to Corsicana. He was preceded in death by his loving and constant companion, Juanita, on January 19, 2004; two sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his caretaker and nephew, James Duvall and other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 8th from 6-8pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be 11:00am Thursday, September 9th at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Alexander officiating, pastor of First Methodist Church, where Mr Dixon was a member. Burial will follow at Pattison Cemetery, Emhouse. |
