Mark E. Hitch, age 57, of Laurel, Delaware passed away October 31, 2022, surrounded by his family. Mark graduated Laurel High school in '83 and the University of Delaware in '88. His many accomplishments include 24 years with the New Castle County Police Department achieving the rank of Major, graduating with the FBI National Academy #231, and serving as Court Administrator for the Delaware Justice of the Peace Court.
Mark enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, exploring historical sites, especially Civil War memorials. He had many hobbies, including his recent appreciation for fine wine. Mark loved spending time with his wife and three children and celebrating in their accomplishments to everyone.
Mark is son to Eugene Hitch, Faye Littleton and stepfather, Lee Littleton. He is survived by his wife \endash Joelle; son - Cortlan and fiancé, Meghan O'Brien; daughters \endash Jordan and Jaycie, and Jaycie's boyfriend, Michael DiNardo; brother - Michael Littleton; and sister \endash Kathy and her husband, Brian Kunkowski, their son \endash Scott and his wife, Megan.
Mark touched the lives of many people. He quickly befriended new people and helped everyone. Mark was a beautiful soul and his presence in our lives will be profoundly missed. We take comfort in knowing he is with his Lord and Savior keeping a watchful eye from above. Mark, you will forever be in our hearts and remembered as an extraordinary friend, brother, husband, and father.
A Memorial Service for Mark's friends and family will be held on Saturday, November 5th at Laurel Church of the Nazarene, 100 Walnut Street, Laurel, DE 19956. A visitation is being held from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM with a service to follow.
