Marilee Shubert, 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000.
She was born in Sweetwater, graduated from Porter High School in Blount County and attended Carson Newman College in Jefferson City. She was a retiree of the Southern Baptist Convention, Seminary Extension Division, and also a retired worker in the Sunday School Department of Nashville First Baptist Church.
She and her family have been active members of First Church for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Spence Davis and Leola Hitch Ray.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Allen Shubert who is originally of Lenoir City; sons, Robert A. (Judy) Shubert of Fort Worth, Texas, William H. Shubert of Brentwood; daughter, Leta (John) Sproule of Franklin; sister, Suzanne (Ernest) Kerr of Maryville; brother, William Spence (Phyllis) Davis of Chattanooga; grandchildren, David (Tammy) Shubert of Andalu-sia, Ala., Michael (Shannon) Shubert of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Gail (Troy) Blalock of Caldwell, N.C., Jonathon Shubert of Brentwood, Clint Wilder, Lacey (Joseph) Dozier and Brandy (Andy) Yarbrough of Nashville.
A memorial service is planned at First Baptist Church, 7th and Broadway in Nashville, on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Pastor Dr. Frank Lewis and retired Pastor Dr. Franklin Paschall will officiate at the memorial service.
Marilee married Ray Allen Schubert.
