RICHBURG - Mr. A. Ray McJunkin, 74, of 114 E. Lancaster St. died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1996, at Chester County Hospital. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Union ARP Church, with the Rev. Allen Derrick officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery. A native of Copperhill, Tenn., Mr. McJunkin was retired from the DuPont Savannah River Plant, where he was a chemist. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater, 47th Medical Depot. He was a member of the Union ARP Church, where he had served as elder and clerk of the session. He was a graduate of Tellico Plains High School and Marybille College and attended Hiwassee College and the University of Utah. He was a member of the Unaka Masonic Lodge No. 0651, American Chemical Society and the Springs Golden Age Club. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Hitch McJunkin; his daughter, Jane Agee of Richburg; his brother, John L. McJunkin of Jensen Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Lou M. Reed of Louisville, Tenn., and Alene Gray of Garland, Texas; and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the Union ARP Church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be made to Union ARP Church, P.O. Box 88, Richburg, SC 29729. Barron Funeral Home is in charge. Evelyn Baumgarte. Alvin married Lillian Isabell Hitch, daughter of Raymond Davis Hitch and Laura Jane James.
