Ruth Chatham
Ruth Chatham Massa, passed away January, 28, 2019 in Owens Cross Roads, AL. She was born February 1, 1921 in Siloam, MD. Ruth was retired from the Brevard County School Board. A loving mother and homemaker, she was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. She will be remembered for her independence, her love of dogs and her feistiness and quick wit. She is preceded in death by her husband, John E. Massa; her sister, Nellie Chatham Adkins and brother, Stanley "Pete" Chatham and survived by children, Robert (Donna) Pryor Houston, TX, Patricia Putnal, Lennon, MI, Cindi (Doug) Thomas, Owens Cross Roads, AL, Stepson Jay Massa (Ina), Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and stepdaughter, Patricia Sibert, Jacksonville, FL, 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 am in Florida Memorial Gardens, the Chapel of Peace, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL. Ruth married William Maurice (Bill) Pryor, son of Marion Louis Pryor and Martha Elizabeth Hitch, about 1938 in MD. (William Maurice (Bill) Pryor was born on 05 Sep 1918 in Worcester Co., MD,1 2 died on 03 Nov 1966 in Brevard Co., FL and was buried on 07 Nov 1966 in Melbourne Cemetery, Melbourne, Brevard Co., FL.) |
