She was a member of Alcoaway Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and affiliated with Green Acres Flea Market for 27 years. She was preceded in death by: father, Wiley H. Walker. Survivors include: husband, Glenn F. Hitch, Sr.; son, Glenn F. Hitch, Jr. of Louisville; mother, Maxine Bales Walker of Maryville; mother-in-law, Lena M. Hitch of Maryville; brother, Norman Walker of Maryville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe E. Hitch, Sr. of Knoxville, Eva Lee Davis of Louisville, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Hitch of Louisville; special friends, Howard and Kathryn Parker; several aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services are at 8 p.m., Monday, February 8, 1999, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. George W. Gilbert officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 1999, in Clark's Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 8, 1999, in the Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000. Mary married Glenn Francis Hitch Sr., son of Joe Roy Hitch and Lena Mae Long, on 24 Nov 1962 in Maryville, Blount Co., TN.1 (Glenn Francis Hitch Sr. was born on 08 Nov 1931 in Maryville, Blount Co., TN 1 and died before 2013.) |
