Thanks for the info. Here is what I have on our family. I haven't had contact with Thornton's children for a number of years so I am vague on their status. A little background on our branch follows. Dad left Allen and joined the Navy, married my mother in 1944 and was stationed on an island in the Pacific when I was born in 1945 at the Norfolk Navel Hospital. He was working in a Civil Service job when my sister was born in 1946. Shortly thereafter he joined the Air Force. He spent 27 years in the Air Force retiring in 1965 at McConnell AFB in Wichita, Kansas. We moved about every three or four years, and lived in Hampton, Va.; Landsberg, Germany; Plattsburg, NY; Rantoul, Il.; Bitburg, Germany; and Wichita. I graduated from High School in Bitburg. In December of 1965 we moved to Wichita and I went to work for Boeing Aircraft and to sidestep the draft joined the Kansas Army National Guard . In 1968 my Brigade (over 7000 men) was called to active duty during the Pueblo incident and sent to Fort Carson Colorado in preparation to being shipped out to Korea. Before we could ship out the affair was resolved and during the next year about 3500 of my unit was sent to Viet Nam.

I spent the entire 19 months in Fort Carson. After we were released in December of 1969 the economy in Wichita was poor and I moved to Chicago in August of 1970 to find a job. I have lived here except for a year and a half in Macon, Ga., ever since. Dad moved to Warner Robins, Ga. in the early 70's and has lived there ever since. Camille came to Chicago in 1965 and married an Airman she met in Bitburg and they moved to Warner Robins in 1972 shortly after Leslie and I got married. Tobin joined the Air Force after High School in Wichita and when he got out he moved to Warner Robins and has been working on the base there since. Anne is a Senior at Illinois State University, preparing for a teaching career. Donald III will be a Freshman at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana in the fall. Engineering is his proposed major. Katherine is a collector of Disney films, The Aristocats being the current favorite.
