Sharon Spitzer Hitch, 69, of Goldsboro passed away Thursday morning after a brief illness. She was born in Fort Atkinson, Wis., to the late Harold and Marion Spitzer and was married to Gene Hitch. A memorial service will be held this afternoon at 2 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Mr. Horace Modlin will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hitch is survived by two sons, Brian Hitch of Goldsboro and Todd Hitch of Houston, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jim Poandl of Dudley; and four grandchildren, Jimmy Poandl, Robert Poandl, Christopher Hitch and Brianna Hitch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Pennies for Angels, Attn: Helen Harwood, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534.
