Headline: Services Sunday for traffic crash victim Publication Date: October 07, 1995 Source: The Knoxville News-Sentinel Page: A9 Subjects: Region: Tennessee Obituary: Services for Mary Lee Wampler Hitch, 40, who died Thursday in a traffic accident, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Dixie Lee Baptist Church in Lenoir City. The accident occurred on Interstate 40 in Roane County, when her Ford Explorer left the westbound lane, crossed the median, went into the eastbound lane and was struck by a tractor-trailer truck and a car. She was a granddaughter of the late Riley Wampler, founder of Wampler's Farm Sausage Company in Loudon County. She lived in Lenoir City, and taught first grade at Eaton Elementary School. She was a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and had a master's degree from Lincoln Memorial University. She was a member of Dixie Lee Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Al Hitch; children, Jim and Stephanie Hitch; parents, Ted L. Wampler Sr. and Frances Wilburn Wampler; sister, Ruth Ann Denton; brothers, John Edd Wampler, Ted L. Wampler Jr; foster sister, Karen Hallead; grandmothers, Edith Wampler and Inez Wilburn; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and in-laws. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dixie Lee Baptist Church, 14650 Old Stage Road, Lenoir City, Tenn., 37772, for the Mary Lee Hitch Family Life Center
