Robert Mark Hitch, III - SAVANNAH - Robert Mark Hitch, III, died January 30, 2012 at Azalealand Nursing Home. He was born in Savannah, GA, on March 18, 1937. He graduated from the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, class of 1955 and graduated from Yale University cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1959. He also graduated from the University of Georgia Law School and practiced law in Savannah. He served as Assistant District Attorney in Savannah under Andrew J. Ryan, III. He was a clerk for Judge James Head and served his country in the United States Army. He loved sports, the arts, travel and literature. He was the son of Robert Mark Hitch, Jr., a well-known attorney, and Margery Fulenwider Hitch. His grandfather, Robert Mark Hitch, was Mayor of Savannah, 1937-1939. He is survived by his sisters, Margery Hitch Barroll, Savannah, GA and Virginia Hitch Bryant of Seattle, Washington; Dr. William S. Hitch, half brother of Robert Mark Hitch, Jr., cousins, Mrs. Jesse Fulenwider, Jr., Virginia Palmer, Robbie Oxnard of New York, Henry Oxnard of Texas; nephews, Lawrence L. Barroll, Jr., Mark Hitch Barroll, John D. Bellamy Barroll; nieces, Lillie Lane Barroll Stark, Isabelle Bryant Oschner, Marci Bryant; grand-niece, Sarah Fulenwider Stark and grand-nephews, Samuel Bailey Stark, John Lawrence Stark and Charles Edward Stark. We would particularly like to thank the staff of Azalealand Nursing Home for their excellent care and many kindnesses. In lieu of flowers, memorial to Christ Church Anglican, P. O.
