*There is little known of Nelly Otwell. We know her surname (madien or previous marriage unknown)from surviving Coventry Parish records of old Somerset Co., MD. Most on-line genealogies place her as d/o Francis Otwell (bc1685). That may be true but Francis would have been age 60 by the time Nelly was born. Not impossible but probably pushing the limits of his wife's ability to bear children. Charles Otwell, a known son of this Francis, was born c1706 so Francis' wife Hannah could not have been born much later than 1690 to have born him. Even with a 1690 date, that would place her at age 53 when Nelly Otwell is born in c1743. It is probable that Nelly was born earlier, perhaps 1730-35, and that would make it more plausible for her to be a d/o Francis Otwell Sr. with Hannah his wife.
Therefore, we leave her here as such but the reader should note that our Nelly Otwell could also be either Nelly is a d/o of one of Francis Otwell's sons (Charles b.c1706, Francis Jr. b.1709 or Solomon b.1714) or a d/o of a second marriage of Francis Otwell Sr. to a younger wife, but no evidence exists for either that this compiler has yet to find.
Nelly* married John Pusey, son of John Pusey and Rebekah Lankford, on 13 Feb 1763 in Coventry Parish, Somerset Co., MD. (John Pusey was born in 1738 in Somerset Co., MD and died in 1831 in MD.)
