He was editor for many years of the Southern Christian Advocate 1854-1871 and President of Wesleyan Female College in Macon, GA in the early 1850s and again 1871-1874. He then became Pastor of Trinity Methodist Church and died of Yellow Fever in 1876. He was married to Mary MACKIE and they had seven children.
Edward married Mary Frances Mackie.
