Sylvia Ann Smith Stroop of Salisbury, MD died Saturday, April 15, 2023 at her residence. She was born July 7, 1940 and was the daughter of Virginia Hitch Culp and Elmer Smith. She was also the step-daughter of John Culp. She is survived by her husband of 51 years George Stroop. She was the loving mother of Tamara Pusey of Salisbury. She had two grandchildren Kristin Hazel of Salisbury and Daniel Pusey of Michigan. She had two great grandchildren Connor and Mikayla Hazel. She is survived by her two brothers Thomas Smith (Ruth Malone) and Ralph Smith (Margaret Ann) of Salisbury. She had two step-sisters Diana Kirkpatrick of Salisbury and Linda Hayward of Florida. She also had one niece Sherri Pavilack (Brooks) of Minnesota and one nephew Scott Smith (Cherie) of Salisbury. Preceded in death is her nephew Randy Smith. There are many great nieces and nephews. She was a personnel director at Benjamin's clothing store and the secretary to Mr. I. L. Benjamin in Salisbury for 20 years. She spent many years working at Life Crisis. She later worked at Dr. Jethalal Harkhani's office in Salisbury until she retired. She was an avid reader, loved antiques and her flower garden. A celebration of her life will be held graveside at Parson's Cemetery on April 20th at 1PM.
