LAWRENCE, MARY ANN HOTARD, age 81 of Orlando, passed away July 27, 2006. Mary Ann was born in Waycross, GA on September 10, 1924 to Edward S. Hitch and Louise Daniel Hitch. Mary Ann is survived by her daughter Louanne H. Coll, Maitland; son and former Winter Park Mayor Roland "Terry" Hotard III, Winter Park; son, Edward H. Hotard, Poolesville, MI; stepdaughters, Melinda L. Wiesler, Winston Salem, NC; Susie L. Westbrook, Clermont; Cyndi L. Hanson, Plains, TX; stepson J.S. Lawrence MD, Orlando; twelve grandchildren and many friends. Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband, Sidney Lawrence; her sister, Louise Gilchrist and brother, Jim Hitch; grandson, Roland F. Hotard IV. Mrs. Lawrence moved to Orlando in 1934. She was a longtime resident of Lancaster Park and remained active in the community. Mary Ann graduated from Orlando High School and attended Florida State College for Women (Florida State University). She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, member of the Junior League of Orlando-Winter Park, and a member of The Rosalind Club of Orlando. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Orlando and attended the First United Methodist Church of Winter Park. Family and friends were the center of Mary Ann's life. She lived in Winter Park from 1948 to 1978, where she raised her children and worked alongside her husband, Dr. Roland F. Hotard, Jr. Mary Ann was active in Central Florida social and charitable activities in both Winter Park and Orlando. A graveside service will be hold Monday July 31st at 11AM at the Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando. All family and friends are invited to a short reception at the home of Mrs. Patty Edwards, Lancaster Park in Orlando. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution to your favorite charity would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Collison Family Funeral Homes, Winter Park, 407-678-4500.
