In her will written July 1, 1875 and probated April 1, 1879, Elizabeth Hitch left all property to "beloved husband" Marcellus Hitch, executor. Witnesses were Nehemiah Wheatley (239 Bank St.), William Nelson (37 Patterson Park Ave.), Samuel T. Stevens (211 Hudson) and Edward J. Griffin (212 Eastern Ave.).
